COVERACK VILLAGE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS:
Watch the iconic stone harbour and Coverack Bay illuminate with festive reflections over the ocean. A trusty band of local volunteers transform the village into a winter spectacle each year. The annual light switch-on takes place on the first Saturday in December with songs from the children, food stalls, St Keverne Band playing Christmas tunes, and even a visit from the big man himself dressed in red. A spectacle not to be missed and loved by all.

KENNACK SANDS AND COASTAL TRACKS
Distance: 2 to 4 miles
Terrain: Sandy beach and undulating cliff paths
Beach Rules: East Beach is dog-friendly all year around. Seasonal restrictions apply on West Beach where they lift on 1st October (dogs allowed all day); restricted 10am to 6pm in July and August.
Kennack Sands offers an expansive sandy playground framed by dramatic rocky outcrops. Outside of the summer peak, it becomes one of the finest dog-walking beaches in the region.
The cooler Autumn weather makes running on the sand comfortable for dogs, and you can easily extend your stroll by picking up the coastal path towards Cadgwith or Coverack.
KYNANCE COVE TO LIZARD POINT
Distance: 5 miles round trip
Terrain: Rugged, steep steps, uneven rock paths
Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging
This is arguably the most breathtaking coastal walk on the LIzard Peninsula. The route linking Kynance Cove to Lizard Point showcases serpentine rock formations, turquoise waters, and towering Atlantic cliffs.
Because the terrain is uneven with sudden drop-offs, sturdy footwear is essential, and energetic dogs should be kept safely on lead along tight cliff edges.
- Highlights: Stop at Lizard Point. This is mainland Britain's most southerly point. Watch for seals before enjoying a dog-friendly treat at the Lizard Point cafes.
CADGWITH FISHING VILLAGE STROLL
Distance: 1.5 to 3 miles
Terrain: Steep narrow lanes, pebbled beach and coastal steps.
Vibe: Historic, cosy and sheltered
For a change of scenery, head to Cadgwith. This working fishing village feels suspended in time with thatched cottages, colourful fishing boats resting on the beach and narrow winding roads.
You can take a gentle walk around the cove, watch the boats come in, or head up onto the coast path towards the Devil's Frying Pan (a dramatic collapsed ses cave). Wrap up your walk with a bowl of fresh seafood and a quiet drink at the dog-friendly Cadgwith Cove Inn.
