If you are looking for a picturesque Cornish fishing village with a fabulous community and something to offer everyone, then you must discover Coverack located on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and the southern-most area of the country. You will not be disappointed!
Coverack (Porthkovrek in Cornish, meaning cove of the stream) is one of those places holidaymakers dream of with its thatched cottages, crescent shaped sheltered beach in a delightful cove, sparkling blue water and colourful fishing boats bringing in the day’s catch.
The beach here has plenty of sand at low tide and being sheltered makes it a great spot for windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Historically this part of the coastline was notorious for shipwrecks at the Mannacles reef and Lowland Point, making the area popular for diving. The beach is dog friendly all year round.
Coverack beach is one of the few places in the world where the Earth’s crust, mantle, and Moho boundary between them can be seen. The harbour was constructed in 1724 from the resulting local green serpentine.

With great places to eat, quaint shops to visit, water sports or lazing on the beach, walking the South West Coast Path, or just enjoying a pint of Tribute and a bag of chips on the harbour wall, you will love it here!
